So much happened over the weekend (already) (mostly at that party or around it) that it's going to take me months to process all of it and weeks to even get started on the writing .. if I do. And overall it was definitely a good thing that I went, and that I came back.

So, Willkommen, いらっしゃい ませ, 呢好吗? to the several hyperintelligent and fascinating people I met this weekend, and hugs to friends and family who I got to see for the first time in aeons. Thanks all for stimulating conversation, cuddles, education, and backrubs, variously.

Safe travels home, and come back sooner, all!

Occams_Razor(@post.prev.memeplex) => 'Have them come over to your house, stupid.'

Game was effectively sabotaged by my lack of preparation for said game and an impromptu but fun birthday celebration (there was even cake).

Most the gamers (er, the guys really) were gone by midnight, pleading ill health, sickness, and disgust.

Much fun was had by all, and hopefully the pictures won't show up on MySpace™ too quickly. I'm not in most of them, whew.

Luckily, the party has now fled in entirety, and was thoughtful enough to take the cake with them, lest the Secret Dessert Burial Ground claim another victim.

Another battle in the campaign of Forced Socialization was fought tonight/ this morning.

It was a good party. There was minor Drama, but it was handled well. I got my claws (lightly) into a couple of attractive young women, and held the leash of another for awhile. Quite a few new people were met, and perhaps I'll actually see some of them again (Quite a few of them all work in the same place). One person I was particularly interested in getting to know better seemed friendly enough, but I never quite found the moment/courage to ask if she was spoken for. I did tell her I would like to see her again, which to my mind is quite unsubtle, if still perfectly polite. She may in fact already be embroiled in a social tangle I have previously avoided entirely.

Avoiding the presentation of the whole evening as a microcosm of my social life ...

I was overtly reminded that counseling is hard, and relationship counseling harder still, and still further that the mere attempt can complicate my life. If one more person had asked me why I was holding her leash ... *sigh* It was because I was trying to talk to her, and it served as a way to get her attention. Sadly, even the possiblity of having a bit of fun was subsumed by the other thing, but it was mildly amusing. It is probably something I should do more often, but finding willing victims ...

So, debriefing: Met new people, check. Flirted with new people, check. Accepted compliments: well, one for sure .. Random favours for strangers and family:dozen or so, Kills: zero Unconscious 'schoolgirls' left unmolested: one plus. And she was really quite attractive, too. Cats herded: two plus. Books read: zero, Pages read: 5 or so of Reviving Ophelia. Music or Author suggestions: some soundtracks, the Honor Herrington books, R.R.Martin's other works, and The Trial of Dragon Mountain, an AD&D module. People to look up on LJ now: just one

Wow. So many noteworthy things happened this weekend that this post has been hard to compose, and I'm only inputting it Sunday evening. There was a big party Saturday .. really big for here. I think we topped out at 20 momentarily, with maybe two dozen guests total.

It has been revealed that our neighbours are, in fact, actually, members of an evil cult. I resisted the urge to play a particular South Park episode while they were in the room. And then today, I helped them move furniture.

It was revealed that E works with A, although he knows her as R. Fascinating, no?

There was a nearly complete set of my ,er, {previous and current} girlfriends at the party. (Yes, that is the best phrasing my weak little mind could manage, move along.) In further proof that I am not a guy, I am still on good terms with all of them (that I can find). Still it was more than a bit odd having a collection of them in the kitchen simultaneously.

There were some popular kids at the party, too, and they were reasonably well-behaved.

I ended up with a guest for the weekend, and tried to display good hospitality. She seems to have enjoyed herself. I'm sure I did. We also both benefited from the time away from things, it seems.

I have a room again, and even a bookshelf. No functioning workstation in there yet, but two monitors lurk.

I got wooed on OkCupid. Still no actual messages, but *shrug*

Kitteh hid for most of the party, but seems to have incurred no new damage.

Underworld: Evolution was terrible, but not really bad enough to be noteworthy, as noted by many LJers before me. Perhaps the greatest letdown is that Ms. Beckensale wears the same PVC catsuit, corset, and boots from the first film nearly all thoroughout the second film. Also, despite the baffling plot and it's unexplained resolution, a third film seems to be threatened. Hopefully Ms. Beckensale's people can get her some new clothes, perhaps from Ms. Jovovich's people.

Monday is a bank holiday, and the boss is still out of town. Going in to work tomorrow is still a possibility, but not an appealing one.

.. I crawled out of bed, played morrow-crack for about four hours (kept crashing on me), finally got out of the house to Target, bought housewarming present and tacky bag, went to housewarming ..

Good party. I had quite a few laughs at various funny stories and sayings, and got to geek out deeply with someone I'd just met (but everyone else knew awhile) about some recently acquired hobbies (SL, CoH). I left at about midnight, before I got tired.

Bah coupling, bah people, bah. (Nearly) Everyone at the party had someone they were not only with but actively playing/cuddling with.

I was pretty bah! all the way home. Our neighbor is throwing a bash for his thirtieth, and it seems quite the party. He gave me a hug and invited me in, which assures me he must be enjoying himself, as we're ordinarilly barely on polite speaking terms. I hugged him back and agreed to his insistence that there' food and drink inside, but I went on in the house and got undressed. I think it would be tremendously awkward for me to circulate there, and I'm already full of sandwiches, chocolates, and a nummy miniature cheesecake.

As an empath it's pretty hard to stay upset when there are that many people sending happy at you, and strangely, I think I'm a little less tired than I was pulling into the complex. Maybe I'll be able to get some reading, or at least gaming in the next few hours before I crash.

The wall's rattling, but it doesn't bother me much. That is quite odd.
