On Cynicism

He may become known as a cynic. Rather than live in the middle of
appalling situations and denying it, he must become a person who
describes things as they are and attempts to improve them. It's
inevitable that he will wish to improve them because the sheer
inefficiency, the stupidity, will be an annoyance.

I punched in a bunch of travel entries, in their current form, just now. Soem are incomplete, and there are no images. They are backdated so as not to clog up the works, so look at the calender. If you like, wait until after the trip, when I clean it up a bit and include photos and scans (that'll be off LJ)

Mobile

So, I am calling a U.S. 800 number, using my U.K. Postal Office phone card, to try and get this phone activated for international roaming, from a payphone in the hallway.

The server actually asked at one point: "Is there a number you can be reached at, other than the cell phone?" and she didn't even giggle. I replied, "Well, no actually. That's why I am calling you, to get the phone working."

Apparently, they have to call me back to verify the account change. (never needed to do that before...)
