August was a declared study break (MCU)
August was a declared study break, and it's almost over ...
August
August activity was more about continuing practice, with moderate success, and deliberately _not_ starting new courses or projects.
- daily stretching went well, second stretch some days
- exercise beyond stretching was inconsistent, roughly completed weekly
- holding onto some gained (2021) flexibility but not increasing it, seems
- skin care went okay on the whole, most daily and weekly items kept up
- diet and weight are okay, holding with some fluctuations strongly correlated with too much snacking
- salad and veggie intake still low
- water intake up a little, but inconsistent, tough to track even with apps
- started daily multivitamin
- watched some fitness and health videos, read blogs and whitepapers, listened to podcasts
- read some comics (Hellblazer graphics novel volumes)
- gaming, including the Diablo 2 (again) beta
- some writing practice with apps, some breathing practice with apps
Starting in Sept, I'll be taking on
- fitness and weight loss 4 week program, starting 1 Sept for ~28 days
- involves daily weigh in ins and other tracking, podcasts ...
- taking a "work career skills" class live (remote) for a week in Sept
- -> certification exam the month after
- ... tbd technical skills development (new) on through holidays
- ... tbd tech skills refresh project/class on through holidays and the new year
I'm finding all sorts of communities on Discord this year (hello!) and that's been fun and may have led to some online shopping... *smirk*
ETA: MCU as promised
- I really like the new Liz Phair album, Soberish. That and a new (to me) Katzenjammer album A Kiss Before You Go are on replay in my head/ house along with other pretties like Okumuki.
- Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next books are delightful, I think I've had four so far and I'm trying to pace myself.
- The Black Widow MCU Disney movie was pretty good, if almost ten years late.
- new Netflix series Brand New Cherry Flavor was lots of fun and is very dark, violent and gross
- "It's different if it's kittens."
- new Disney What If MCU show first episode was really great, beautiful animation, great voice acting, and a neat story
- so far the only thing watchable on Apple+ is For All Mankind which starts really interesting and then turned really dramatic. We haven't finished S1 because we honestly needed a break from all of the character drama that came from the plot, which is still quite interesting.
- they also have a show about blind post-human something ... we jumped out before the 10 minute mark
