Lazyweb: Sidekick users, a frantic query

I continue to have problems missing calls because my SK2 mutes itself in my pocket. The specific problem is that with the screen locked you can still mash two buttons and roll to adjust the volume. Yes, even if a lock combination is set ...

So, can anyone confirm whether this happens on other models, like say the newer ones? So far kata_kita says that a SK3 and a LX do not do this. Anyone else?

Just checked with my LX and confirm it doesn't do this. Don't know where on earth our SK3 is, since we had switched over to the LXes before moving.

Bonus round: Wifi? Or generally any other factoid about the inherent superiority of III or LX to my poor old SK2. (I already have three ? other gadgets that can play Mp3s, so um ,yeah, that ain't it.)

For me, the main benefits to the LX over the III, at least, was the massively improved keyboard (I *hated* the III's keyboard because I type with my nails), and over the SK2 and III the significantly improved camera and, more importantly, screen size and resolution. The LX also has improved battery life over the SK2, but I'm not sure if it's an out-of-the-box thing or an I'd-been-using-my-SK2-for-three-years thing. It doesn't have traditional wifi, but it does have Bluetooth, which I don't recall the SK2 having.

I've been a big fan of the Sidekicks for years -- have been using them nearly since they came out. My first was the original monochrome Sidekick, then a CSK, then SKII -- skipped the III because of the keyboard issue, though jnala had one -- and now the LX. The trackball-type scroll wheel does take some getting used to if you're coming off the SK2's scroll wheel, though.
