Just in from Amazon

I just opened my Amazon carton from yesterday here in the NOC, inside were two books, shrunkwrapped together.

A co-worker punned, "Oh, so they're bundling those together now?".

The books?

• The Dark is Rising (box set of five)


• Apache Security (the O'Reilly one)

Similar themes? You decide. Me, I think the Cooper books are too juvenile and optimistic (happy endings) to really capture the soul-sucking inevitable devastating triumph of the forces of evil allied against Apache and Security. for more on that back up a couple posts..

They're not bundles, it's just a shipping technique. I've ordered about three or four dozen books from Amazon in the last year, and a few dvd packages, and in the last few months everything in my order that fits has been shrinkwrapped together, presumably for shipping.
