Come for a walk?

There needs to be some ligh hiking before it gets too cold. I suggest that on a Saturday in one of the first couple weekends in September some number of us convoy up to a park and walk one of the easier hiking trails, such as those nearby any number of waterfalls in North Georgia.

So, who is in?

Although I can't join you, I do have two hiking suggestions based on the years I spent visiting all of the North Georgia State parks, especially since gas is at a premium:

1. The falls -- Amiacola is steep and not for beginners. Ruby Falls (not the underground one near Tenn.) is much easier on beginners and is handicapped friendly.

2. The battlegrounds memorial and the park-whose-name-escapes me on Lookout Mountain are great for hiking. And when you are done, you've got activities in Chattanooga right at hand to make it work the day.

3. Finally, don't forget you've got Kennesaw Mountain nearby. Good trails around that one also.

(and if it matters, all of these are dog friendly as Rex and I use to hike Betsy on them all)
