Wed, huh?
I got my latest care package from Amazon today: the first six Ender books. If I ration them to one a day or less, it'll help keep me busy for about a week. I also got Underdark from them, and although it's nifty, it is also really quite annoyingly difficult, as I had feared.
Started an empire and ran through a hundred turns on Strife. I went from 34X to 17X in rank, which sounds good, at least. It's sort of like BRE, but not in any way at all like BRE or Planets. I had some fun clicking the widgets, anyway.
The rents are talking up the idea of me going back to school, although probably not for January. It's nice of them to try and give me forward-looking topics to discuss, and there are some classes I'd like to take, but I don't see it as helping with anything really. It's nice of them to try and help me feel better, emphasis on try.
Let's see if this posts.

ender books?
(when you're done, of course. :-) )
Re: ender books?
Actually the whole idea is to try and get him to read Ender's Game, as someone suggested it as a good easy sci-fi novel.. So he's first after me on that one.
I finished Ender's Game already, about a hour ago. About one surprise, but it's a bit of a spoiler, so I'll save it ..

Re: Reading?
As for the paperbacks, this is all part of a plot to get him to read, and to add valuable books to the library. I have (or had) some of these books in e-text already ;) Reading on-screen on a shared computer doesn't really work for novels, although I got a couple chapters into The Philosophical Strangler while at the house over last weekend.
It's troubling that I might have to buy a damned computer. Frelling things are expensive, or at least I have expensive tastes in them. I dunno if I could stand to use a $500 USD laptop for long.
