And now, we rejoin your regularly scheduled ...

... insomnia post. Argh.

Stupid brain won't shut off. Maybe it was the apple juice. It was bouncing all over the place while I was trying to lay still with my eyes closed in the mostly dark with a kitty and listen to the pretty music.

I found myself actively trying to puzzle out where Danerys's (sp) dragons came from, trying to remember if she gave birth to them or what. I remember her brief but exciting marriage and her brother's fate, I managed to put names or stock epithets on most of the contendors for the crown, including in some cases who murdered which ones ... I could remember Tyrion's father name, but I did recall his fate, and much of his brother Jaime's career .. Was Tyrion even in Feast of Crows? For the unafflicted this entire paragraph refers to George R. R. Martin's epic fantasy series ... and I 'm sure the name of the series will come back to me at some point. I was working my way through the names of the Stark children and their last known whereabouts, and then I couldn't quite remember for certain who went out the window ... And I was trying to separate Arya from [livejournal.com profile] arya, and trying to recall where she's from ... not using her name here, right. It occurred to me that it is probably all on the Wikipedia. Well the book parts. The other I haven't been rude enough to ask specifically.

Starting the CD again, that's the third time today, but I wasn't in bed for the first one (shaving). Only a few small holdouts of black bramble and pale stalks remain. You are saved from photography in this instance by me needing to keep the lights down, really.

I am starting to be noticeably hungry. I am sure that wasn't helping from in bed, but it is certainly not helping now. It's been a little more than 24 hours since that Eggo™. HTML 5 actually looks pretty nifty, from the accounts I saw anyway.

10:39: Sipped milk, drained a cup of herbal tea with a little honey. Luckily it tasted much milder than it smelled while brewing, as the spearmint was staggering. Refrigerated honey tendril reminds me of The Abyss. Wasn't sure before, but arms seem to be al goosebumpy. Cat passes through and tromps downstairs having spent several nois minutes failing to bury something. Interestingly (?) she walked out of the bathroom gracefully, rather than tearing out of there like she was being chased.

thanks

for the memories, or at least reminding me of the little psycho's name. I too will now start the Battle for Sleep. I hope your campaign fares better. Also thanks for the Doctrow recommend. Just finished Scroogled. remisnds me why I started using alta vista. Probably ain't safer, but at least it ain't U.S. based. Know of any decent English language Swiss or Canadian search engines? I trust their governments with privacy more than ours.

The series is A Song of Ice and Fire. Daenerys didn't give birth to the dragons; she was given the dragon eggs as a wedding gift, and after her husband died she shocked everyone by figuring out how to hatch them with blood and fire.

Tyrion wasn't in A Feast For Crows; he'd gone into hiding at the end of the prior book. What I hear is that the next book will happen in the same timeframe as Feast but cover the other half of the plot, on the other side of the world with Daenerys, Tyrion, etc. It had just gotten too big for one volume.

Does that help? >8-> Hope you're feeling better.

Darlin, spearmint is a stimulant...
